About the course
This course is suitable for new entrant learner or building trade operatives who are looking to acquire refrigerant skills to work in the RAC industry. Operatives who already working in the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry can also use this course as means of gaining qualification and experience. This course enhance your skills and understanding and it can also lead to REFCOM registration.
This course covers many study units within the RAC sector. When successfully completed the course, candidate can receive City and Guilds 2079 F-gas Cat 1 certificate plus City and Guilds 7189-205, 206, 207 unit certificates.
This qualification also cover installation, decommissioning, service and maintenance of RAC and HP systems.

- Health and Safety working in the RAC industry
- Scientific principles in RAC and HP systems
- 206-Installation and commission RAC and HP systems
- 205-Service and maintain RAC and HP systems
- 207-Electrical principles of the RAC and HP systems
- 207-Electrical circuits and testing, finding faults
- Brazing of copper pipe to IOR standard
- System Recovering and evacuate system
- Carry out compressor change
Assessment method
Assessments consist of theory exams of multiple choice question and practical assessments. Learners will receive adequate training and preparation towards passing the exams.

14 weeks, 1 day per week
