Level 3 Certificate in Electro-Technical Technology
The course has been designed by City and Guilds to support the government initiatives towards the National Qualification Framework. It contributes towards the knowledge and understanding required for the related N/SVQ while not requiring or providing evidence of occupational competence.
The course covers the following topical areas:
- Application of Health and Safety and Electrical Principles.
- Occupational units which cover:
- Inspection, Testing and Commissioning
- Fault Diagnosis and Rectification
The course is made up of:
- One multiple-choice on-line test units (i.e. the core unit).
- Two assignments from the same occupational area.
- Each of the assignment units has an underpinning knowledge test.
The course is for candidates who:
- are following apprenticeship programmes.
- who do and do not have access to an N/SVQ.
- wish for career progression within the electro-technical industry.
- have passed the Level 2 Certificate in Electro-technical Technology examination.
It is a 1-day/week course for 44 weeks or 2-days/week for 6 months.
