Level 2 Certificate in Electro-Technical Technology
The course has been designed by City and Guilds to support the government initiatives towards the National Qualification Framework. It contributes towards the knowledge and understanding required for the related N/SVQ while not requiring or providing evidence of occupational competence.
The course covers the following topical areas:
- Working effectively and safely in the electro-technical environment.
- Principles of electro-technology.
- Application of Health and Safety and Electrical Principles.
- Installation Theory and Practical.
The course is made up of:
- Four multiple-choice on-line test units (i.e. three core units and one occupational unit).
- Two assignments, which are marked internally according to the marking criteria, with quality assurance monitoring by City and Guild's external verification system.
The course is for candidates who:
- are following apprenticeship programmes.
- who do and do not have access to an N/SVQ.
- wish for career progression within the electro-technical industry.
However, candidates must have Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy
It is a 2-day/week course for 44 weeks.
