About the course
The aim of this course is to enable practicing electricians and others, operating in the domestic environment, to gain an understanding of how electrical installation in domestic dwellings must comply with all the relevant Building Regulations. Part P is intended to increase the safety of domestic dwellings by improving the design, installation, inspection and testing of the electrical installation whether the installation is new, extended or altered.
Course content
Part P Defined Scope is a qualification for engineers who carry out work on domestic electrical installations as a secondary task to their main role. The course will cover the following areas:
Applicable Building, Electrical, and Safety Regulations
Pre-work survey/inspection; Safe isolation procedure
Earthing and bonding requirements; Electrical test procedures
Cable components and fitting selection; installation and replacement of electrical components and fittings
Recording of electrical test results, completion of certification and notification requirements
